Welcome to the start of Winter and the final month of the 2017-18 Fishing Year. We hope you are fishing right up to the end of the month as I understand there are still opportunities to claim trophies and awards for both our Club competition and the ANSA NSW 12-month competition. In our May newsletter, we have the new outings calendar and the Saltwater and Freshwater Total Length species for 2018-19. The list of outings and the new total length species was decided by our members at our May General Meeting.

Volume 21 Issue 9 April 2018

In this month's newsletter, we have flyers for the last ANSA Convention for the 2017-18 fishing year - the ANSA Lake Lyell Convention on 25-27 May 2018. We also have my report on the ANSA Sportsfishing Tournament and the South Coast Mighty Bonanza Fishing Competition, which also doubled as an ANSA Convention.

Volume 21 Issue 8 March 2018

Happy St Patrick's Day! If you're reading this newsletter today, I hope you are enjoying a tacky green-dyed lager of cold beer (I'm not sure they serve that down here but all the pubs and clubs served it back in Brisbane before I moved down here).

In this month's newsletter, we have flyers for the next lot of ANSA Conventions (the 25th ANSA Sydney Sportsfishing Tournament on 23-25 March 2018 and the ANSA South Coast Convention on 13-15 April 2018), and Zane's article for the recent 50th ANSA Narooma Convention, plus a selection of photos submitted by Chris Lemmon and Steve Bailey.

Volume 21 Issue 7 February 2018

We are now past the half-way mark in the Club year and still some great outings ahead of us. But first, in this month's newsletter, we have an outing report for the ANSA Nowra Convention attended by Zane, Sarah, Zack and myself. I'll also give an update in this newsletter on what I learnt about the Carp Herpes Virus at the stakeholder workshop co hosted by the National Carp Control Plan and the ACT Government.

In our January newsletter, we have a write of our first outing for 2018, the Carpathon, and the recent release of 41,000 fingerlings into Lake Burley Griffin, Lake Ginninderra and Upper Stranger Pond, as well as Jon Vogel's article on the 80th Tollgate Island Classic. You will also find details of the Nowra Convention which will be held on 16-18 February 2018, and our guest speakers for the February and March General Meetings.

In our November newsletter, we have all the news from our 43rd ANSA Burrinjuck Convention, and a great article from our tuna king, Brian Stacy. We also have the latest ANSA Calendar for 2018. The next ANSA Convention is the Nowra Convention on 16-17 February 2018 and I have also included a copy of the entry form in this newsletter.

Volume 21 Issue 3 October 2017

Welcome to the second newsletter of 2017-18. While I was away on holidays, I heard the Club had a fantastic outing at Kalkite, with the Malam family claiming some rather nice trout that weekend. I heard the Batemans Bay outing was a little windy but still an enjoyable weekend. After being away for a month, I'm now looking forward to our Burrinjuck Convention on 3-5 November 2017.

Welcome to the first newsletter of the new 2017-18 Committee.

Thank you to those who put their hand up to be on this year's Committee. I am very grateful for their dedication and commitment to the Club. Our Committee members all have busy jobs and plenty of family commitments but have still taken the opportunity to volunteer their time to the Club. Volume 20 Issue 12 July 2017

What a busy year it’s been! The books have now closed on the 2016-17 Club Championship and trophies are being prepared for Presentation Night.

There have been some spectacular captures contributing to the Championship….. and some spectacular failures vying for this year’s joke trophies. Make sure you reserve Friday, 1st of September 2017 in your diary for the annual Presentation Night – it will be a great opportunity to show our respect for the achievements of the winners and have a heap of fun remembering what members did to win the joke trophies.
